Battle Circus – Self-Titled

Fit for a film score

Epic, dark, cinematic. Think of what would happen if Pink Floyd tried to write soundtrack music to the nightmares of a paranoid schizophrenic, and then you have a bit of a grip on what New Zealand’s Battle Circus sounds like. The record is extraordinarily produced so that you feel engulfed in the enormous soundscapes this band creates. There is a lot of depth on this record. It’s a rewarding listen.

  1. Reminds me of Dream Theater. But grungier. Battle Circus is a fitting name.

  2. It reminds me a bit of Trent Reznor/Atticus Ross’ score to The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
